How we handle, secure, and protect your accounting data at Zenbooks
1. Introduction
Zenbooks (referred to as 'we', 'our', or 'us') provides cloud accounting and billing software for consultancies, agencies, and service-based firms. We are committed to protecting the privacy of your business operations and your client records.
2. Information We Collect
We collect account registration data (name, business email, hashed password), company configuration details (country, currency, tax rules, and uploaded logo files), and financial entries (invoices, customers, services, expenses) required to run your billing and ledger.
3. Data Ownership & Sovereignty
You retain 100% ownership of all financial transactions, invoices, customer records, and tax filings entered into Zenbooks. We never lease, sell, or share your accounting records, client contact info, or ledger balances with third parties.
4. Cryptographic Security & Encryption
All passwords are encrypted on the server-side using secure, salted bcrypt hashing. Data in transit is protected using SSL/TLS encryption. All tenant databases are logically isolated to ensure strict data segregation.
5. Cookie Usage & Authentication
We use cookies exclusively for security and maintaining user session states via NextAuth. We do not load advertising cookies, tracking scripts, or marketing pixels within the dashboard portal.
6. Retention & Account Deletion
You can request the deletion of your account and tenant data at any time. Upon request or termination of the service agreement, all business files, ledger logs, and client directories will be permanently purged from our active databases within 14 business days.
